P.T. Barnum is alive and well, and it appears that he's selling ignition parts these days! That coil should take a very short time to burn up a set of points, as it has approximately the same primary resistance as a coil used on a 12 volt HEI ignition system. A normal 6V coil has about 1.5 ohms or so of primary circuit resistance.
