Depending on the type of carriage ( lightweight ), probably a single horse. There were jack ports on the sides. Somewhat like VW and Porsche used for there heavy side lifting. This jack would only lift about as much as one man but, would free up a person to adjust axle bolt. Most were Blacksmith made. Doc.
