Yep, I already have a mockup engine assembled from junk parts, and everything clears. It's not my first rodeo, building custom engines from parts that aren't supposed to work together, since my family was doing it for two generations before I came along. Building an engine by assembling parts somebody else did all the engineering on should be child's play for anyone with the unmitigated gall to call himself a "mechanic". Making mismatched parts accomplish an improvement in performance is a different degree of difficulty.
