Against what? Splash? They will not be submersed. Won't leak. Rivets are tight by definition.

This type rivet. I have an assortment of them. (sealed blind rivets). Just thought if the person didn't weld or didn't want to ignite fumes lurking in the sender can and burn their arm hairs and the rheostat coil, that rivets are a good option.
