Clem, Not sure which filter container you have, but do read the Tech article mentioned by TC. There are many different types out there the photo shows just a few. I do know the filter shown will not work. The center opening is much too large. You need a filter like the one in the photo. This happens to be a WIX 51100 that fits my AC S-6 filter. I suggest you take the container to your local parts house and try different ones until you get a fit. The spring goes between the filter and the lid.
