I started my EFI project back in '00 when I bought a lightly rolled over '00 Sierra, removed the cab and bed, modified the wheel base and mounted my '56 Burb body on the rolling chassis, using the the engine, transmission and running gear.
It's been one obstacal after another...long story.
I was just thinking the other day that I'd be better off yanking the Vortec engine and transmission out and replacing it with a carburated engine with a 700r4. At any rate, here's a pic of the engine.
