It first states:

Most T-5 transmission models use Dextron II automatic transmission fluid.

It than plainly states:

DO NOT USE GEAR OIL IN THE T-5 TRANSMISSION SINCE THIS MAY DAMAGE THE BLOCKING RING MATERIAL.

It also states: Do not mix different brands or types of transmission lubricant.

I don't know about you guys, but I have never planned to run gear oil in my T-5 and even though some folks here have, I have been sure since day one that Dextron II Automatic Transmision Fluid is what the designers and engineers of these transmissions say to use in their manuals. Gear oil may not hurt, but it could cause some eventual failure. It could even void a warranty if you had the transmission professionally rebuilt.
