In a recent issue of Classic Trucks magazine, they show a build up on a used 307 engine. Check it out. They got over 300 hp out of a pathetic 307. A whole lot of horsepower can be found in a set of heads. The stock 283 heads do not breath very well. Upgraded intake and exhaust systems will be nullified by the amemic flow of the stock heads.
