on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2018 Posts: 80 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2018 Posts: 80 | hi, i'm working on a 1951 3100 panel with a 1957 235 4 spd.
when the motor was rebuilt, the rebuilder tapped the crank and added a big [censored] bolt and washer to help secure the harmonic balancer. i need the low clearance water pump and the fan is now hitting the balancer bolt.
my understanding is that the harmonic balancer is pressed on and this bolt was added as a back up should the balancer come loose. so do i even need this bolt?
if i do need it, i only have 2" of clearance between the water pump and the rad. is there a electric fan that i can use? if so, can it be mounted in front of the rad?
thanks. | | |
