O rings wear quickly, particularly in an atmosphere dominated by strong solvent vapors. How many times a month are you willing to dismantle the carb and replace them? I'd say that would be needed about once a week on a daily driver. Also, anything that constantly drags against the bore will make the power piston action so sluggish as to be virtually worthless in response to varying load conditions.
