The open driveline configuration indicates the transmission fits 1955-up cars and/or trucks. Most of those were used in cars- - - -I'm not sure if any trucks came equipped with the overdrive or not. The shift lever on the tailshaft housing is a lockout device to keep the OD from engaging by pulling a cable for such things as trailer towing or using compression braking on a long downhill grade, etc. Check your private messages- - - -I might be headed to E.
