Siphon type, gravity feed or pressure pot. Then how well you blast will depend on how consistent and how much air supply you have.
Personally I have a pressure pot and I run 100 psi or maybe a tat more if the rust is real bad. I'm running a 7hp 175psi 19cfm air compressor and even it has to "work hard" if I stay at it continually for a spell.(usually until I have to refill the tank) On some of the blasters you will find the "optimum" level as you blast and adjust the sand.
Just today I stop at Metromont (concrete place) and picked up 6 more bags of Blasting Sand. It is 100 lb bags at $6.25 a bag. I ask for the FINE which is considered #30. The coarse is considered #12....at least thats whats on the bags I get. I generally use the fine stuff. Once I get through I sift it through a screen and re-use it in the pot blaster or my blasting cabinet. Hope this helps you out and I'm sure you'll get more opinions. | | |
