The 235 and inline 6's in general seem to have a wide torque range, lugs down very well. The worst big diesel engines were the Detroit diesel V8"s, rev fast but no low end guts. So I think the hot cam would take away one of the best things a 235 has to offer. About the 261 cam tho, wonder if it would be a slight improvement without sacrificing the low end.
Detroit Diesel is not a good comparison as they were 2 cycle engines.
