Be sure to polarize the generator sometime during the swap. Just connect a jumper wire momentarily (1 second) between the BAT and ARM terminals of the regulator after all the wiring connections are made. You'll get a pretty good flash- - - -that's normal. Engine running or stopped doesn't really matter- - - - -it works either way. Once the installation is complete, check the voltage at the battery posts with the engine running at a fast idle against a fully charged battery (IMPORTANT!) It should be somewhere close to 7.5 volts. Have fun!
