To take the chrome off we used muriactic acid. Its been over 15 years ago and I do not remember if there were any special stuff to do other than pour it on. One thing I DO know is you beter have a breathing respirator on!whew.
Now, there is a young man in our neighbor hood that has a disability and I help him with his projects sometimes or let him use stuff in the shop. Yesteray he stopped by and ask me to help him "strip" some chrome bicycle rims and I'm wondering if I should buy some muriatic acid from Lowes and see if it will "melt it off" or should I stick it in my bead blasting cabinet and knock it off?? Any Ideas???? | | |
