Haven't had experience with the silicone gasket but......
Not sure which engine you have but have you tried the thick, I believe 5/16", thick gasket??? It works for lots of folks who may have a valve cover that is somewhat warped. I put one on my 261 engine and like it. I have heard of others using it with success.
