Yesterday I welded a small nut onto the edge of the stop to extend it, then ground it down little by little until I was satisfied with where it was stopping. Carl- you are right, the leaf spring U-bolt holes in the front axle are drilled to match the lateral spring angle- I don't think it's possible to reverse the front axle because of this.
