Cleaners soften deposits- - - -air removes them. Soak the completely disassembled carburetor in the solvent for several hours, minimum, flush thoroughly with HOT water for a few minutes, then use a needle-tipped air gun and about 100 PSI pressure to blow MASSIVE quantities of air through every passageway you can find. The trick is to get the casting and the drilled passages totally clear of any obstructions. One of my instructors at the GM training center in Memphis used to say "Put 55 gallons of air through every hole!" He had a good point there- - - -overkill during cleaning is just barely good enough.
