| Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | Doesn't matter if the ammeter wires are hooked up backwards, just switch them. Key on, engine, lights, etc. on, needle should show negative, engine running, not at idle, needle should show positive.
