When the engine note changes there's your leak
Please try to not get too much on the exhaust It'll smoke you our
Another idea!
Have you sync'd the carbs? Are they open the same at idle? You have to disconnect the linkage between them to do this.YOU MAY BE RUNNIN ON ONE POT!
And the choke goes on the front carb....don't ask me why but I've noticed it does make a difference
