Bartamos, couple quick follow-ups.

1) I understand to set the octane selector to 0, but it seems that it never comes into play in the timing adjustment process. Maybe I should just go do it, but I need to buy a timing gun first. The octane selector seems like a red herring.

2) I think you're telling me that when the engine is properly timed using the ball bearing, it will, by definition, be at 5 deg BTDC. I don't need to figure out how to achieve 5 deg BTDC, like reading some scale, other than moving the distributor per the timing instructions. (Hopefully that question is clear).
