On that topic, having purchased a 53 Chevy truck previously with a Washington state title, I've run into the scenario where the number on the title doesn't correspond to the number on the door, but rather the engine number. If the original engine is gone, there wasn't an easy way to tie a title to a specific vehicle. It had no issues getting registered, even with this scenario.
For this particular truck, it isn't currently registered. I'm thinking of buying it, and the title and bos would come with it. It was last registered in the 90's as is evidenced by the title application date as well as the date on the license plate seen in pics. It's been sitting where it is now, for an unknown amount of years.
I'm trying to get my ducks in a row for a potential purchase.
