Since I'm sort of partial to keeping my pocket change in my own pocket, I like to recycle other people's junk. I just bought a small block Chevy rev kit, about 40 roller lifters, and a stud girdle, all for a C-note on an ebay auction. The Carrillo rods have one NASCAR race on them- - - -they cost me another Franklin! Other than crankshaft grinding and getting the heads angle-milled, I'll be doing virtually all of the other machine work in my little shade tree machine shop out the back door. Keeps me out of the beer joints, anyhow!
