What amazes me is those recycled NASCAR parts! Granted, few, if any of them are bolt-in stuff for a street engine, but a set of $2K+ tool steel connecting rods for a hundred bucks leaves a lot of room for custom machine work! The same sites also recycle other low-mileage race engine parts. Billet crankshafts, engine blocks, cylinder heads- - - - -all sorts of lightly-used round track parts that race teams have left over from one or two days of racing on a superspeedway end up on Ebay.
Back when I built circle track engines my competitors learned to be very selective about the "junk" they sold or gave me. Quite often, they ended up following their own castoffs into the turns!
