One tidbit on the text info in the link that you posted.
On the 1955 Chevrolet Truck 2nd Series light switch a safety feature was incorporated by basically splitting the switch in half.
One circuit breaker protects the headlights and parking lights, while the other circuit breaker protects ALL the remaining vehicle lights.
For example:
You could have a short on the rear lights and the headlights and parking lights would still work.
On the 1954 Chevrolet Truck light switch ALL the vehicle's lighting protection goes through one circuit breaker.
If you have a short anywhere you could loose headlights.
Less Safe, especially if your driving at night with sunglasses on.
