The buyer's complaint doesn't make good nonsense- - - -I believe I could solve the alignment problem and probably the vacuum leak with a file, a piece of angle iron and maybe a little tweaking of torque specifications. A thick gasket is a crutch, not a cure. If the alignment rings end up too thick after a planing job they can hold the manifold away from the head- - - -instant vacuum leak!
