I posted this once before as a tip for when I did a very similar exercise on my '50 3600. I made my template out of PVC sprinkler pipe, heated it and bent it with a propane torch. Easy to work, cheap to buy and when you need to carry it to the shop it is pretty light weight. My two sections fit perfectly but your results may vary (I went to an old school, neighborhood shop).
