Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 | The starter needs to be matched to the flywheel. 6 Volt starter works fine on a 12 Volt system( foot start). A solenoid starter is a different beast. 6 Volt starter with a 6 Volt flywheel. 12 Volt starter with a 12 Volt wheel. The diameter and tooth pitch are different(count the teeth on the flywheel to determine what you have). 139 teeth on the 6 Volt fly wheel. More on the 12 Volt one.
