When I started my truck restoration, an older, more experienced restorer told me to determine the exact cost of the restoration and the length of time it would take (one year/$10K) and then multiply my figures times 3. He was very close--almost 3 years, $27K. I originally thought the time projection could possibly be correct, but as I was planning to do alot of the work myself, the cost seemed out of line. Surprise, surprise.
