yes, it does take that long when you deal w/ a shop like that [older dudes w/ real good reps working much cheaper than average] - the way they work is as said, pump the insurance jobs thru for the cash flow, use your resto work as a filler to take up the slack, and take pleasure in being the artists they really are - you get twice the time and energy on your job at half the price - sometimes they can put a half hour on yours while the paint cures on a job that's payin the freight, and yours is a freebie!
just stop by regular to check the progress w/o buggin them too much, and they won't put it waaay on the back burner - 4 months for a complete *excellent* job isn't long at all
