My 51 Chev. 3100 3 speed is jumping out of gear at speed and sometimes hard to get in 1st and 3rd. Have a 54 trans. with engine standing by although no idea of internal condition.
Questions...any idea what is causing the issue? will that 54 attached to a 235 cu. in. bolt up to my 216.5 cu. in. or will modifications be necessary? I suppose by Wrenchbender comments the parts are interchangeable (as in tear down the 54 for parts)?
If I need to go elsewhere for parts, any suggestions as to who may have serviceable parts?
