Yes, crank the engine while running the pump and let the valve lifters operate. I assume they're hydraulic?

BTW- - - -look at a small block distributor housing- - -there is a groove about 3 inches below the flange with wide flat spots above and below it. That groove completes part of the oil passage to one bank of lifters. If your pump-spinning tool does not include that area, that bank will never get oiled.
