There's a subject in most high school and even engineering school curricula called "physics". It would be wise to spend some time studying it as it pertains to situations where pressure and volume is concerned. Why would the rate of flow through a bypass filter be different, given a particular amount of oil pressure and the same restrictor as before the full flow filter was added?
