Sorry about scientist. Not meant to dis in any way. You seem plenty capable/knowledgeable whatever your title. I have rebuilt enough Quadrajets that I known that, in them, the power piston raises and lowers the primary metering rods. But I thought some carbs had flow thru that tube. I've rebuilt many carbs but don't have a great understanding about the finite operation of them for sure. I read all about it and forget most of it.
