I have/had the same problem. My bottom radiator outlet is 1 3/4" and the old style short water pump is 1 1/2 if my memory is good tonight.
I'm planning on using an exhaust reducer to connect the two different sizes. Most FLAPS have several size reducers/connectors.

....and I saw a short 1 3/4 to 1 1/2 reducer offered by either Chevs of the 40's or maybe it was Filling Station.

NOTE: When looking for the bottom hose be careful to get the correct length. I've checked several places and some list the "correct" hose as being 13 1/4" and another place listed it as 17". Be sure you know what lengths you're looking for.

NOTE: I found some flex hoses with different size on each end but when flexed to fit my situation I felt it put just to much pressure/stain on the bottom aluminum outlet to suit me.

Hope this helps someone.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
