Has anyone ordered the wiper kits straight from Newport, that looks like an option on their website now?
I generally prefer buying stuff from the people that make it where possible, then if any questions or problems there's only one person to talk to and they ought to have the best answers. Often but not always is cheaper than using a middle man/distributor.
A couple years ago at a truck show Newport was setup in the swap meet with a nice display of various old truck cowls and windshields with their wipers installed, they were nice to talk to and helpful. The next day I went back with cash in hand to buy a set for my 48 truck... except they wouldn't sell them to me, I had to go through a distributor. That was frustrating at the time, I just couldn't understand displaying your product at an antique truck show swap meet and not actually selling the product. It is probably more difficult to install but it allows lots of flexibility on where you mount the motor, having purchased and looked at one it seems to be a good quality system.
