I use whatever Eastwood sells and have had no problems with areas treated with it .I use it in areas with light rust that doesn't require panel replacement before I start the body work because it soaks into any little pits that paint or primer would bridge.
I used it first on a quicky Duster for my daughter that has a hard time with cars and trees. Anyway, I ran out of the stuff on a portion of the car and two winters later that portion of the car was all rust, and the treated portions were fine.
So I think a wholesale disreguard of rapid oxidizers is off the mark.
