The only options for controlling the output of the round cored, re-circulating heater/defroster is the fan speed or how much the manual valve on the engine next to the thermostat housing is opened up.
heater/defroster shutoff control I think the proper name for the deluxe heater is the Fresh Air heater and the other is known as the Re-circulating heater.
