Sorry, got off topic with screws. I do not think there is a "good" solution except a new carb body. Should not be hard to find and better piece of mind. The helicoil requires a larger tapped hole, a certain depth/thickness, problems with blind holes, expense, tools and possible "screw" up.
Maybe get a donor for parts or rebuild a used one.
