Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!
| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 554 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 554 | I guess I am lucky. I got nearly 1500 miles on my new throwout bearing before it started screeching. I do have proper free play. It has gone from occasional to every time I push the clutch pedal in and the noise level has increased greatly. Very embarrassing at stoplights. I put it neutral when rolling up to a light. People in the next lane often say nice truck or give a thumbs up until I put it in gear and they hear the screech. Going to have to fix it soon but not ready to wrestle the 4 speed by myself. It was so easy to install on a bare frame. Searching regarding this problem indicates we are not alone. | | |
