I like this idea. I think we can make it look stock anyway. I think if it were done right, nobody could see the modification and a person could even make kits for everyone else to make it easier. The entire reason for the effort is to use a stock switch for aesthetics. The heat coming out of the core wouldn't effect the thermal characteristics of the resistors anyway.
