I didn't know 6 or 12v would make a difference in a rheostat switch. Any rheostat switch will get really hot at partial speed. I am no expert so I learned something today I reckon. FWIW 12v rheostat switches are available through the vendors. I always thought that was just marketing (6 or 12v) but I guess not eh?
