The thing that isn't mentioned is what happens when you put 12 volts to it. In that case, Power comes into play, not just Ohms Law. The 6 volt resistor wattage rating is half that of what is required for 12 volts, thus why it gets so hot. I am looking into a more optimal ohm value when using a 12v motor (12v system) and a higher wattage solution so you can feel safe using the stock switch. | | |
