I believe what Panic was stating,is the fact that the stovebolt combustion chamber has the exhaust valve up inside a big cavity, while the intake valve is flush with the deck of the head. This causes the exhaust valve to be more "shrouded" than the intake valve.
I agree with you on that, and what Panic stated for that matter. But it would seem to me that a shrouded exhaust valve will still be shrouded regardless of whether you had a hydraulic lifter cam or a solid lifter cam. That is why I asked panic if I was missing something.
