I finally got one in!! It didn't slide in (that was like trying to put a 3 pound salami into a 2 pound bag.) I placed the bottom 'ear' of the sweep into the lower lip then used a windshield stick to push the upper 'ear' into the upper lip a little bit at a time. I used lube which I think helped. It was slow, but there was no way the sweep was going to slide. Thanks for your help.

It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.
