Like Carl suggested, test the pump.

Start the engine so you know there is fuel in the bowl (it could have evaporated out overnight in a heated garage).

Stop the engine.

Remove the air cleaner.

With one hand open the choke valve and hold it open if automatic choke.

Look down beneath the choke plate.

Move the throttle from closed to open.

If you see a spurt of gas, pump is OK.
