The carb was completely gone thru and I installed a new carb kit. When I assembled it tho, I noticed that the accelerator pump diaphragm was smaller than the bore it went in, so I soaked it in marvel mystery oil for a few hours. It did swell the leather diaphragm enough to apparently get a slight squeeze fit in the bore. Could this be the reason there is a dead spot?
did the pump look different from the one you removed?
