Someone putting in a late model rear-end may have one on hand. A little expensive but we have a 4x4 shop in Greenville, S.C. that can cut you a new axle.
Lot of years will work in your housing if my 52 is the same as a 48....I THINK up to '62, ('ve used a 59 in my 52 so I know that works)
....and you could put a shim behind the seal so that the seal lip is not riding in the same place on the axle and may be alright......I'm sure someone will come along with better answers but this should get you started. | | |
