Probably due to incomplete burning of the air/fuel mixture due to puddling in the intake. Not really a fuel smell, more like a busy, dirty engine shop smell. Carl 1952 5-window - return to "as built" condition \| 1950 3100 with a 235 and a T-5 transmission
