VEW, thanks for the reply. I'll hold out for more from others too.

I changed the oil and 1 quart of the new stuff is marvel mystery oil. I removed plugs and squirted some MM oil in each cylinder and then turned it over by hand before trying to start it. I have not run it more than a minute or two as I was concerned with the noise and didn't want to damage anything without hearing some advice first. I'm hoping that it's something that will works it way out. I'm interested in what others think as well.
